Company will be initially led by COO and CFO.
Tenable chairman and chief executive officer Amit Yoran has passed away. He was 54.
Yoran had served as head of Tenable for eight years, and had previously served as president of RSA Security and CEO of NetWitness. He was also a former director of the National Cyber Security Division within the United States Department of Homeland Security.
A press release from Tenable called Yoran “a visionary leader and a pioneer in the cybersecurity industry”.
“His unwavering commitment to innovation and relentless pursuit of excellence transformed Tenable into a global leader in exposure management,” it said. “His contributions to the field have left an indelible mark, not only on the company but on the broader cybersecurity community.”
Yoran had taken a medical leave of absence in early December 2024, with CFO Steve Vintz and COO Mark Thurmond appointed as co-CEOs to ensure continued strategic execution and stability.
“The company will continue to operate under their leadership as the Board conducts a CEO search, including both internal and external candidates. Art Coviello will serve as Chairman of the Board.”
