Some personal details compromised, company confirms attacker has contacted some customers.
A statement from easySim.global to customers notified them that ‘a hacker gained unauthorised access to one of our servers’ earlier this week.
In a statement, the company confirmed that a small proportion of customer records were compromised, exposing some customer names, email addresses and in a very small number of cases, customer telephone numbers.
It also said that the attacker involved has contacted some customers via email, and the company encouraged recipients to forward on any suspicious messages.
No Compromised Data
“No other data such as passwords or payment details were compromised,” easySim.global confirmed.
“No customer eSIMs, phones or other devices can be accessed as a result of this data breach, which as caused by the exploitation of a server vulnerability that has since been resolved – all of our systems are now fully secure.”
The company confirmed that it has notified the UK Information Commissioners Office of the breach, and affected customers have been informed.
