IKEA's Greek Parent Shrugged Off Ransomware Attack Last November

Costs came to around €20 million.

The Greek branch of IKEA lost around €20 million following a ransomware attack last November.

According to local media reports, the attack took place on November 27th - just ahead of Black Friday - temporarily affected digital systems in all of the group's countries of operation, according to local media reports.

The incident caused temporary disruptions to store replenishment, which mainly affected the home furnishings and furniture industry of IKEA stores, as well as e-commerce operations, during December 2024 to February 2025.

According to IKEA’s management, the effects were remedied almost immediately, no ransom was paid and no personal data was leaked.
