UK-based automotive data and analytics firm Autovista has disclosed that operations of its European and Australian systems have been impacted by a ransomware attack, reports The Register.
Additional details regarding the attack vector involved remain limited amid ongoing efforts to contain and investigate the incident alongside external experts.
"Our top priority is to securely restore impacted applications, although we do not have a firm timeline on this yet. We will keep our customers informed, to the extent our investigation uncovers additional relevant information. We will also provide an update on timing when we have that information," said Autovista.
Autovista's advisory also called on its customers, which include manufacturers, dealers, telematics firms, and insurers, to refer to its website for updates and use the Autovista Group's email address for urgent communication needs. Meanwhile, Autovista was noted by sources close to the matter to have ordered its staff members to hinder emails from all Autovista Group firms, remove links from files, and delete all related executables.
