Flood scheme protesters see details posted online.
Personal details of East Lothian have been accidentally leaked online.
According to The National the details were those of objectors to a flood prevention scheme in Musselburgh. The details were first published in October by East Lothian Council but, despite apologising to those affected, some names remained online.
The objections were posted online on Friday, October 21st, but the data breach was only discovered by one objector late the following Monday evening.
East Lothian Council said the Information Commissioner for Scotland had been informed of the breach and added that those dissatisfied with the council’s response had the right to complain to the commissioner. An ICO spokesperson said: “We are making further inquiries with the council.”
