"Attempts being made every hour of every day – companies must treat cybersecurity as an absolute priority."
The recent cyber incidents experienced by British retailers should be “a wake-up call” for every business in the country.
Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster Mr McFadden is expected to use his keynote at this week’s CyberUK conference to to urge companies to treat cybersecurity “as an absolute priority.”
According to Reuters, McFadden is expected to say that with ‘relentless’ targeting by cybercriminals every hour of the day, “companies must treat cybersecurity as an absolute priority.”
McFadden will also set out the action the Government is taking to boost the country’s cyber protections in his speech, including “modernising the way the state approaches cyber, through the Cyber Security and Resilience Bill” which will “bolster our national defences.”
