Blackdot launches AI tool for financial crime

Blackdot Solutions unveiled Videris Automate, an AI-powered platform to streamline financial crime investigations.

Blackdot Solutions has unveiled Videris Automate, an artificial intelligence-powered platform built to streamline financial crime investigations by automating open source intelligence gathering, risk assessment, and reporting, according to IT Brief United Kingdom.

Targeted at sectors such as banking, fintech, and compliance, the system is designed to shorten case timelines, cut costs, and increase efficiency while keeping investigators in control to ensure ethical and auditable outcomes.

According to CEO Stuart Clarke, the launch reflects the company's belief that "AI has the power to transform investigations... augmenting expertise with unprecedented speed and scale, while still ensuring that control, judgement, and ethical responsibility remain with investigators."

Unlike conventional automation tools, Videris Automate leverages large language models (LLMs) and agentic AI for tasks including entity disambiguation, network analysis, and summarisation, with automated reporting for rapid case resolution. The platform integrates with Videris Investigate for deeper scrutiny, supports evidential and regulatory standards, and is positioned as a critical tool for organizations responding to rising volumes and complexity in financial crime investigations.
