Internal factors are most significant cyber threat in next two years.
Just under half of UK businesses experienced a cyber-attack in the last year, with 27 percent attributed to insider threats.
Also, 32 percent of affected organisations suffered financial losses exceeding $500,000, while only 36 percent expressed confidence in their current infrastructure's ability to withstand future cyber-attacks in the next 12-24 months.
However 38 percent of organisations identify internal factors, such as employees and partners, as the most significant cyber threat they face in the next 12-24 months.
Cisco chief product officer Jeetu Patel, said: "This year's report continues to reveal alarming gaps in security readiness and a lack of urgency to address them. UK organisations must rethink their strategies now or risk becoming irrelevant in the AI era."
