Washington State Schools Hit by Cyber-Attack

Toronto District school board also admits LockBit infection this summer.

Highline Public Schools in Washington State have been hit by a cyber-attack which disrupted its technology systems.

According to BleepingComputer, this has led to the cancellation of classes due to the importance of the impacted systems to school operations.

Highline Public Schools officials noted that an investigation into the incident is underway, but did not provide further details regarding the possible compromise of student or staff data.

This attack comes amid persistent intrusions against the education sector, with the Toronto District School Board admitting the compromise of student information following a LockBit ransomware attack in June.
