Core cyber job postings has decreased by a third.
A backdrop of challenging macroeconomic conditions and technology layoffs has led to demand for cybersecurity professionals to fall.
According to statistics from the Department for Science, Innovation and Technology released this week, the number of core cyber job postings has decreased by 32% (from 71,054 in 2022 to 97,319 in 2023).
Other job postings requesting cybersecurity skills have also decreased by 39%.
Cyber sector businesses reported that they find positions for staff with three to five years of experience the hardest to fill, and 61% of job postings request two to six years of experience.
