SMEs Struggle with Cyber Attacks in 2024

60% of UK SMEs claim they have had multiple attacks in 2024.

UK SMEs are grappling with sophisticated security threats, with almost two-thirds saying it is their biggest challenge.

According to a survey of 612 IT decision-makers in the UK and US by JumpCloud, 60% of UK SMEs claim they have had multiple attacks in 2024, with 61% citing security as the biggest challenge, a 10% increase from the previous report. 

Phishing was cited as the main cause of cyberattacks by 43%, while just under half claimed they lacked the resources to protect against such attacks.
