Part of $244m million investment to facilitate cyber job creation.
The US government has announced an opportunity to create cyber jobs in all verticals via the Service for America concept.
Announced this week, the proposal will “facilitate cyber job creation in every industry, paving the way for even more opportunities in communities across the country” while lowering barriers and broadening pathways, ensuring that there are multiple opportunities available.
This will include removing unnecessary degree requirements, “moving toward a skills-based approach that emphasizes candidates’ ability to perform a job, rather than where they acquired their skills.”
Also work-based learning is being expanded through registered apprenticeships, which allow Americans to continue earning income while they learn new skills. This follows a
$244 million investment for registered apprenticeships in growing industries, including cybersecurity.
