Visibility boosting deal expected to complete in third quarter.
Rapid7 has announced its intention to acquire British security start-up Noetic Cyber.
The addition of the cyber asset attack surface management (CAASM) to Rapid7’s existing cybersecurity solutions will provide more comprehensive visibility of a customer’s environment, the US company said, as it will offer more visibility into both internal and external assets, on-premise and in the cloud.
Co-founded in 2019 by Paul Ayers, Allen Hadden, and Allen Rogers to empower security teams to command their attack surface, Noetic Cyber provides a proactive approach to cyber asset and exposure management, empowering security teams to see, understand, and fix their security posture and control drift.
The acquisition is expected to close during Rapid7’s fiscal third quarter.
In a statement, Ayers said that “this is not the end of the Noetic story, but our vision and technology will continue as part of a more comprehensive exposure management solution.”
Pointing to an existing partnership with Rapid7, integrating with their market-leading vulnerability risk management, XDR and cloud security solutions, Ayers said this acquisition has been a natural progression.
“The addition of our CAASM solution to Rapid7’s existing technology will deliver significant value for both of our customers as we are able to align our unique asset visibility and context with Rapid7’s view of the attacker to enable focused prioritization and drive efficiency and productivity for security teams,” he said.
