A seven percent quarter-over-quarter surge in incidents was noted.
The UK was the third most targeted nation globally with malware attacks over the past three months.
According to research by NordVPN, there was a seven percent quarter-over-quarter surge in incidents, driven by increasingly sophisticated tactics like fake emails and malicious links impersonating major tech firms and government agencies.
"Malware has become the Swiss Army knife of online crime," said NordVPN CTO Marijus Briedis, noting modern variants can hijack webcams, steal login credentials, and encrypt data silently.
