LEGO Website Hacked to Feature Bogus Crypto Banner

Unauthorised banner appeared for 75 minutes on Saturday morning.

The homepage for LEGO was hacked to display a crypto scam that appeared for around 75 minutes.

An AI-generated banner appeared on the official website offering the ‘LEGO coin’ with links to a separate marketplace where you could buy ‘LEGO Tokens’ with ETH.

Brick Fanatics reported that the takeover appeared around 2am BST on the morning of Saturday 5th, and the website has now been restored.

An official statement, published by Engadget, said the “unauthorised banner briefly appeared on LEGO.com” that was quickly removed.

“No user accounts have been compromised, and customers can continue shopping as usual,” the statement said. “The cause has been identified and we are implementing measures to prevent this from happening again."
