ISC Report Iran as Cyber Risk to UK Sectors

Intelligence and Security Committee warns status could change amid evolving geopolitical tensions.

A new UK parliamentary report has raised alarms over the growing cyber threat posed by Iranian threat actors.

While the UK is not currently a top target, the Intelligence and Security Committee warned that this status could change swiftly amid evolving geopolitical tensions, such as recent Israeli-US strikes on Iran.

According to Infosecurity Magazine, the ISC emphasised that Iran, though less advanced than China or Russia, remains a serious danger due to its ability to exploit common vulnerabilities. The report also highlighted risks from private Iranian cyber actors pursuing state interests.
