From cyber risk to cyber resilience: cutting the business risks of cyber attacks

Why organisations need to focus on resilience and recovery, not just cyber defence

Cyber attacks are now inevitable. Cybersecurity leaders and their boards have to prepare for when, not if, a breach happens.

This means shifting from a focus on defence to resilience.

In this webcast, we look at the changing cybersecurity threat, and why CISOs are moving to resilience and recovery; the role of incident response, recovery planning, and testing; and the importance of human factors in cyber resilience.

    From cyber risk to cyber resilience: cutting the business risks of cyber attacks

     Cyber attacks are all but inevitable. Both cybersecurity leaders and their boards now assume they must prepare for when, not if, a breach happens.

    But this means shifting from a focus on defence to resilience. The organisation needs to be able to recover from an attack, as well as maintain operations — as far as possible — during incidents.

    Actions taking both before and during an attack go a long way to determine how quickly an organisation recovers. And these actions will also determine the extent of including financial and customer losses, and a loss of business credibility.

    Enterprises need to act to protect their data. And they must plan and practice their security incident response and recovery processes. Resilience is only possible when all parts of the enterprise are prepared.

    In this webcast, our expert panel will examine:

    ·      The changing nature of the cybersecurity threat landscape, and why enterprises need to move from defence and recovery to resilience;

    ·      The need to protect data and ensure the business can restore both data and systems without reinfection;

    ·      The value of business data for forensic investigation and identification of compromises;

    ·      The need to prepare and test recovery plans across the business, with a focus on recovering from security incidents;

    ·      The importance of human factors in cyber resilience across the business, including the CISO and CIO, operations, legal and communications.

    Join us to learn how security leaders can build true cyber resilience and reduce the business impact of any breach.
