The AI Act Explorer provides developers with clear guidelines on which parts of the Act apply to them.
The European Union is ramping up efforts to enforce its AI Act by launching the AI Act Explorer.
According to TechRepublic, this is a digital tool aimed at helping companies understand and comply with the law's complex guidelines. Launched on Friday 18th July, the AI Act Explorer also comes with a compliance checker to aid developers in interpreting their responsibilities.
The AI Act Explorer is designed to provide AI developers with clear guidelines on which parts of the Act apply to them. Users can also use the EU’s accompanying compliance checker to determine their specific obligations.
The Act, which classifies AI systems into risk-based categories, places the highest regulatory burden on general-purpose models like OpenAI’s GPT-4 and Google Gemini 2.5 Pro, which fall under the "systemic risk" category.
