EU firms Turn to Sovereign Clouds Amid Trade War Fears

Fears of a trade dispute between the U.S. and Europe have accelerated the push for sovereign cloud solutions across the EU.

According to Channel Futures, European leaders are particularly wary of potential U.S. executive orders, such as those during the Trump administration, that could compel American tech giants to cut off services to European customers.

Countries in Northern and Central Europe are already investing heavily in local, energy-efficient data centers, but

Red Hat's Fevzi Konduk described this as triggering a "domino effect" toward data-localised cloud environments, and noted that sovereign cloud efforts also require robust partnerships across hardware, software, and security vendors.
