Cybersecurity Industry Falls Silent After Krebs Ruling

President Trump ordered a review of the former CISA head.

Cybersecurity firms are mostly remaining silent following President Trump’s decision to revoke security clearance for Chris Krebs and SentinelOne.

Reuters asked 33 of the largest U.S. cybersecurity companies, including tech companies and professional services firms with large cybersecurity practices, and three industry groups, for comment. The only group to comment was the Cyber Threat Alliance, whose president described the White House memo ordering the restrictions on SentinelOne as carrying numerous falsehoods.

"Targeting a company because the president does not like someone in the company is an example of the very weaponisation of the federal government the memo claims to be combating," president Michael Daniel said.

In an email to SC UK, Philip Lieberman, CEO of Analog Informatics, said: “There is a lot to this story that has not seen the light of day yet.

“This is an example of a security professional getting involved in politics and paying the price of picking sides rather than staying on mission. It's a message to the rest of the IC community to stay out of politics."
