Incident impacted the school’s IT systems.
A secondary school in Cornwall has been forced to close for two days following a suspected cybersecurity incident.
Richard Lander School in Truro announced that it will remain shut to students on Monday 30th June and Tuesday 1st July while investigations continue, according to media reports. The school stressed there is currently no evidence that any personal data has been compromised.
The incident, which has impacted the school’s IT systems and limited access to important data, has raised concerns about safeguarding and the school’s ability to operate normally. Cornwall Council is working closely with the school to assess the situation and a further update for parents is expected on Tuesday via the school’s website and social media channels.
