Carpetright took systems offline to isolate virus.
UK high street chain Carpetright has confirmed that it was hit by a cyber attack.
A source confirmed to the Sun that some staff networks were taken down at the Essex headquarters, including emploee portals to book time off and download payslips.
A Carpetright spokeswoman confirmed the attack, saying: “We would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused. We are not aware of any customer or colleague data being impacted by this incident and are testing and resetting systems, with investigations ongoing.”
Carpetright's network was taken offline due to the cyber-attack but the company said the virus was isolated before any data was swiped. It was not clear what form of malware was involved in the attack, or how the company was infected.
