Second member of cybercrime gang arrested in Spain.
A British man was arrested in Spain in the past week, alleged of being the leader of the Scattered Spider cybercrime group.
Sources familiar with the investigation told KrebsOnSecurity that the man is a 22-year-old from Dundee named Tyler Buchanan, also allegedly known as “tylerb” on Telegram chat channels centered around SIM-swapping.
The Scattered Spider group are suspected of hacking into around 130 organizations over the past two years.
He was wanted by the FBI and arrested in Palma de Mallorca as he tried to board a flight to Italy. His arrest follows that of 19-year-old Noah Michael Urban who was
arrested in January.
