AI-driven cyber attacks show increase.
Around two-third of businesses believe that offensive AI will be commonly used in cyber attacks.
According to a survey of 440 businesses across the UK and US, 93% of security leaders expect to face daily AI-driven attacks by the end of this year.
While 90% of respondents are confident in the defensive AI capabilities of their Web Application Firewall, DDoS protection, and API security, only 60% of security leaders could say the same about their bot management tools.
Andy Still, CTO and co-founder at Netacea, said: “While it’s heartening that so many leaders recognise the everyday threat they face from AI, there are gaps in understanding where the most damaging threats are coming from. In the arms race between offensive and defensive AI, it’s important to recognise that AI will be used anywhere it can be, and they need to respond in kind.”
In other research released this week found there has been a 60% year-over-year increase in global phishing attacks, fueled in part by the proliferation of generative AI-driven schemes such as voice phishing (vishing) and deepfake phishing.
