Winner Dr Kevin Jones, Group CISO for Airbus.
He has defended a major international organisation from cyber threats and developed leading and specialist knowledge around Industrial Control system security also used to protect UK CNI. He has also co-founded “Cyber Wales” a cyber security ecosystem in Wales.
Diversity champion
Winner Emma Smith, Vodafone global cyber security director
A role model as a senior woman in cyber security, she has implemented a policy of Inclusion for all. Her achievements include 30% of women employed at all levels in her organisation and a target of over 40% by 2025.
Student of the year
Winner Sophia McCall
Currently studying a BSc Cyber Security Management degree at Bournemouth University, 21 year old, the 21-years-old lives, breathes, and sleeps security, honing her technical skills “outside of lecture hours. McCall has already won numerous national ethical hacking competitions.

Winner Edgescan Fullstack Vulnerability Management
This was judged as a “Good all-rounder,” and “A highly scalable SaaS solution with good TCO, collaboration across other tools. This hybrid cloud-based solution covers both web and server security to provide real actionable risk intelligence, contextualised to the user’s organisation.
Best use of machine learning
Winner Barracuda Sentinel
This was described as an “Excellent use of ML”. Barracuda Sentinel is part of its Total Email Protection suite using AI to provide real-time defence against business email compromise, spear phishing, account takeover, social engineering attacks, impersonation, and other cyber fraud.
Best threat intelligence solution
Winner Recorded Future
Described as doing “loads that benefit the infosec community and our nation's infrastructure in general”, This product uses machine learning and natural language processing, combined with human analyst research to collect, and analyse data from 900,000 sources on the open and dark web.
Best SME solution
Winner Malwarebytes Endpoint Protection
Judges noted that this cloud-based product with an easy-to-use GUI, “is an asset to the SME security team, enabling improved detection and prevention of threats, whilst offering real time support and 'noise-free' operation” and a tool “worthy of consideration for any SME.”
Best SIEM solution
Winner LogRhythm NextGen SIEM
The SOAR capabilities, extensive data collectors and with no coding required, provides access to key investigations by non-technical personnel. Judges said the platform had, “good awareness of the rapidly emerging complexity we see” and “demonstrates why the platform is a leader in SIEM.”

Winner William Hill
This security team runs, “a great improvement programme that works directly with end users to build both strategy and culture, this team leads from the front and invests in the training of the security staff to keep them ahead of the game”.

Sophos was also described by our judges as a “well established security company with strong offerings.” Sophos protects around 400,000 organisations of all sizes and over 100 million users in more than 150 countries using an impressive range of capabilities in its portfolio.

One judge said of Fusion’s entry, “great testimonials, succinct and solid responses with a concise and easy-to-relate to video”. In addition, the company has made strides to advance its risk management offering including product enhancements as well as a growing community of experts and users.

Judges said this was “a valuable product in a privacy-driven landscape”.

This provides all four layers of email protection: secure email gateway, inbox defence, security awareness training and automated incident response. “A very compelling entry here providing a great story as to why this is a top-notch product,” said our judges.

Our judges said that “iProov presented some solid business benefits for its solution. The linked video was very good describing the innovative nature of iProov in particular bringing out the AI aspects.” This product provides facial biometric services to authenticate remote users.

Known throughout the cyber security space in Scotland, Haeburn Little was chief executive of the Scottish Business Resilience Centre for over nine years. She has also led cybersecurity initiatives and campaigns and is a strong advocate for making STEM careers accessible to young people.
