Deloitte state no systems have been impacted.
A ransomware group is claiming to have breached of Deloitte UK, taking more than a terabyte of compressed data.
According to media reports, the group calling itself ‘Brain Cipher’ has listed Deloitte UK as a victim on its dark web data leak site and set December 15th as a deadline to respond.
In a statement, Brain Cipher criticised Deloitte’s cybersecurity practices, claiming that “the fundamentals of computer security were not respected” and claiming they would provide examples of how they bypassed the firm’s defenses.
In an email to SC UK, a Deloitte spokesperson said: "We are aware of the claims by the threat actor. Our investigation indicates that the allegations relate to a single client's system which sits outside of the Deloitte network. No Deloitte systems have been impacted."
